Welcome to Reception

We are very busy in Reception having lots of fun learning through play. We have a lovely indoor and outdoor space which allows us to access activities in all of the 7 areas of learning both indoors and outdoors. In Reception we learn through hands on, physical activities. We work as a whole class, in small groups and sometimes one to one with the grown ups in our class. All of our activities are carefully planned for to ensure that our play supports our learning and development across all aspects of the Early Years curriculum. On this page we will display some of our most recent learning experiences and below you will find a list of useful documents.

Our learning is documented using an online Learning Journal called Tapestry. Our teachers take lots of photos and videos of our learning and upload these to Tapestry as a record of our achievements and experiences. Parents have their own logins for Tapestry and get notified when something new is added to their child's journal, they can also upload their own photographs, videos and make comments.
